My Story…
I'm running Jodi's Race in memory of two people I loved deeply — alongside my stepmonster Elissa (Marcy's sister) and my little brother Lucas (Fathead).
My aunt Marcy was taken from us by ovarian cancer on May 28, 2020. She was funny, sharp, full of life — and gone far too soon. My uncle Chris ("Skuncle") cared for her through every hard day of that fight, and he showed our whole family what love looks like when everything is on the line.
Years later, Skuncle faced his own diagnosis — Stage 4 esophageal cancer. He passed away at home on March 31, 2026, and I had the honor of playing a supportive role in his journey. It was the hardest and most important thing I've ever done.
They are golden souls, and we're running for both of them.
For Marcy, because ovarian cancer is still stealing mothers, sisters, aunts, and friends. For Skuncle, because he'd give me grief if I didn't ask you to chip in.
Any amount helps. Thank you for being part of this with us — and with them.
