My Story…

My name is Caroline Betts, and I am proud to be an Ovarian and Endometrial Cancer survivor! I had been experiencing what I assumed was digestive problems for upwards of 6 months; I was bloated and uncomfortable without having any real explanation. A week after my 30th birthday, I was rushed to the ER for a blood clot in my leg. On a whim, I mentioned my stomach pain to the doctor, which ultimately led to the CT scan that saved my life. It turns out that the cause of my discomfort (and my blood clot) was an 8 lb tumor in my left ovary, taking up as much room in my abdomen as if I was 7 months pregnant. After a grueling 8hr surgery, my doctor confirmed that it was cancer. Ultimately, I was lucky to learn that my diagnosis was Stage 1 Endometreoid Carcinoma, and they were able to get out everything in surgery. 1 year later, I am so grateful for my health; I am making this team to raise awareness and encourage other women to advocate for themselves. Thanks for the support!
