My Story…
It's been 9 years since I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, followed by major abdominal surgery, 6 rounds of chemotherapy, loss of all hair, and complications from the chest port. 2017 was certainly a difficult year, but I was one of the lucky ones, as the cancer was detected early despite its subtle symptoms. The average 5-year survival rate for OC is only 48%, and many women are diagnosed at stages III/IV with even lower survival rates. Therefore I have become a personal advocate for increased awareness/education and early detection of ovarian and other gynecological cancers, and volunteer with the Colorado Gynecological Cancer Alliance (CGCA) which provides support on many levels to women navigating this cancer journey. Earlier this month I completed Jodi's Race 5K and would greatly appreciate your donation of any amount to support the efforts of CGCA. Thank you so much!
