Our story…

Hello dear family & friends--

If I have not yet had a chance to talk to you and share this disturbing news, I apologize. Things have happened very quickly, and I'm still processing it all myself.

My cancer has returned. It is Stage IV (several nodules in my lungs), likely a distant metastasis from my endometrial/uterine cancer in 2021. I received the official diagnosis just 11 days shy of that magical five year cancer-free milestone. I've already had the initial visit with my oncology care team. Treatment with chemo and immunotherapy begins next week. Beyond that, I have no other details to share yet. I have no symptoms and feel fit and fine physically. Perhaps that is why this comes a such a shock.

Thus, this email comes with a donation request to Jodi's Race. Walking has become one of my passions and this 5K will literally be a walk in the park (ha ha!). If you want to join my team and walk with me, I would be delighted. If not, I am enormously grateful for any contribution you can make. And I'll gladly take positive thoughts and lots of prayers, too!
