My Story…
The housing affordability crisis can feel overwhelming. It’s complex and persistent, and often hard to see real progress. But St. Clare’s is doing work that is both effective and enduring. St. Clare’s is building non-profit affordable housing to help end homelessness by repurposing buildings (like hotels and offices), adding density at existing sites, acquiring and fixing up rental buildings, and developing new builds. St. Clare’s partners closely with social service agencies to ensure tenants have the ongoing support they need to stay housed. The results are real and tangible.
I’m riding to highlight this amazing organization proving housing solutions do exist and can scale. Thank you for funding St. Clare’s Housing!
Description
Please help me grease the wheels! I’m cycling around Toronto to help end homelessness.
St. Clare’s is an innovative non-profit organization that uses a unique housing model that serves as an avenue into housing for people who chronically struggle with homelessness. And they're more than a social justice landlord. Since 1998, St. Clare's has established 762 affordable housing units in 7 of Toronto's downtown neighbourhoods. Every donation to Gear Up for Housing goes directly to St. Clare's development activities to establish much-needed, deeply affordable housing.
Please consider sponsoring my ride with a donation. All donations receive a tax receipt. Any amount, no matter how small, helps us move closer to ending homelessness.
