My Story…
I have had migraines for over 50 years. It has been a roller coaster. As I write this, I'm dealing with a doozy, so I'll be brief. Over the years there haven't been the most effective treatments. In the last 8-10 years treatment options as well as specialists and knowledge in the study of migraine have greatly improved. I hope the growth in the understanding of this disease continues. It has affected myself, my daughters, friends, other family members greatly. It has impacted daily living, choices on what to do, or not to do. It is isolating, as no two migraineurs are alike. I still remember trying to explain to my mother that my daughter has daily, chronic migraine. Every single day. She would always say, "they can put a man on the moon, but they still can't figure this out? " As usual, she was right. The Team at UVM and Miles for Migraine work had at "trying to figure this out". For all those reasons, I walk and try to bring attention to the impact of migraine.
