Having worked at Starling Community Services for 25 years, I’ve seen firsthand how deeply our community relies on accessible and compassionate children’s mental health programs. Every day, I witness the courage of young people and the dedication of staff who walk alongside them, and I know how vital these supports are for families facing difficult moments. I’m walking in Steps for Kids as part of the Foundation team because I believe in this work, I’ve seen its impact, and I want to help ensure that every child has the opportunity to grow, heal, and thrive. Across our community, more young people than ever are struggling with anxiety, depression, and emotional distress. The need for timely, accessible mental health support for children and youth has never been greater.
That’s why I’m taking part in Steps for Kids.
Every step we take and every dollar raised supports Starling Community Services, helping ensure kids and youth can access the care they need, when they need it most. Your support directly funds life‑changing programs like the Children’s Mental Health Centre and Safe Haven Youth Services, programs that offer safety, stability, and hope during some of the toughest moments in a young person’s life.
