My Story…
I have been working at Starling Community Services (formerly Lutherwood) for nearly 2 decades. I came because it was a new challenge; I stayed because of the great people working here and the amazing work they do for people in our community. With life and society the way they are, all our children's mental health, housing, and employment services are busier than ever, and our clients and staff are really feeling it. Every dollar you donate goes directly to helping children and youth who are struggling with their mental health or are at risk of being homeless. And it makes a difference; I have seen it firsthand. Across our community, more young people than ever are struggling with anxiety, depression, and emotional distress. The need for timely, accessible mental health support for children and youth has never been greater.
That’s why I’m taking part in Steps for Kids.
Every step we take and every dollar raised supports Starling Community Services, helping ensure kids and youth can access the care they need, when they need it most. Your support directly funds life‑changing programs like the Children’s Mental Health Centre and Safe Haven Youth Services, programs that offer safety, stability, and hope during some of the toughest moments in a young person’s life.
