My Story…

5 years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. When I was diagnosed there was only a 22 percent chance of living five years. Since then it has increased to 33 percent because of research and that is why I am so passionate about raising funds to drive more.
It hasn’t been the easiest  road being filled with spinal surgery, a lumpectomy, brain surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, seizures and probably a hundred scans and tons of doctor appointments, but I am still here, thanks to God the great physician.

Most days now I am living a fairly normal life and I am so thankful for that.
To date fundraisers I have spearheaded have raised over $300,000. I am asking you to join me on May 31st as we walk in honor of the fight against MBC. It promises to be a day full of love, amazing memories and lots of color.
It will commence with a color powder toss and we will pass through three color stations and a bubble station. There will be lots of fun activities and new surprises this year.
I hope you can join me, but if you can‘t there is an option to donate. Thank you for joining me in the fight against MBC.

Description

WHAT IS #LightUpMBC ?

#LightUpMBC is a global landmark campaign designed to shine a light on the importance of critical funding for Stage 4 Breast Cancer Research. #LightUpMBC will create significant impact during its 4th annual campaign on October 13th, Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day, when over 225 iconic landmarks across the globe illuminate in the MBC awareness colors of green, teal and pink.  This will culminate with #LightUpMBC Live, a virtual broadcast the evening of 10/13, that will take viewers across the world to hear from musical entertainers and MBC patients who will share their personal stories in front of illuminated landmarks in their cities. All funds raised benefit METAvivor Research and Support, a 501c3 non-profit founded by MBC patients in 2009 to fund critical research that will lead to advances in treatment options, quality of life and survival for patients diagnosed with MBC.
