My Story…
KC Mukai is a grateful former participant of the Nikkei Community Internship. Growing up in Fresno, CA, KC move to the Bay to study at UC Berkeley where she graduated with a degree in Sociology. Key moments of her volunteer roles including Founding the District Youth Board of the JACL Northern California Wester Nevada Pacific District and the Japanese American Youth Alliance (JAYA), and chairing the Social Justice Committee of The Young Buddhist Editorial. Currently, in Tsuru for Solidarity, KC serves as a core organizer in the Bay Area and the Fundraiser Chair on the Leadership Council. KC is also a board member of Berkeley Buddhist Temple, and in 2023, she was honored to serve as the Queen of the Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival. In her free time, KC enjoys trying various crafts and DIY projects, being a cat mom, and feeding pigeons on the street.
