My journey with JCYC started years ago as a youth participant and later a program staff in JCYC Upward Bound. With the support of my advisors, culture keepers, and the JCYC scholarship, I became the first in my family to attend college and earn my BA in Psychology. The tools and experiences I gained as a youth and staff prepared me for the many opportunities I would encounter in my life and career.

As a Latina and first-generation college graduate, I know firsthand how impactful access to opportunity, mentorship, and community can be on the success of youth. The 2026 San Francisco Aloha Run celebrates culture, community, and giving back. Proceeds from the event support JCYC Scholarship Programs and its programs which empower over 7,000 children and youth in San Francisco and beyond each year. I invite you to make a meaningful impact in the lives of primarily low-income students who will be the first in their families to attend college. Every dollar counts!
