My Story…
Peaches: a Humane Society London & Middlesex success story.
A few years ago we said goodbye to my beloved dog of 16 years and it felt like a piece of my heart was torn out. I wasn't sure I would ever be ready for another dog, until one day "Cheeka" showed up on my Facebook feed.
HSLM had posted a video of a surrender who needed extensive medical care. She was underweight and covered in sores and scabs from skin infections. You could clearly see how much pain she was in but at the same time how much she just wanted to be loved.
I kept following the page, looking for updates and videos (and re-watching the ones already posted) and fell further in love with her every time. That's when I knew I was ready to open my heart and home to another dog.
We are so incredibly grateful to have been chosen to be her forever family and want to give back to the shelter that brought her into our lives. She has brought us so much healing and joy and we cherish every day spent with her.
