My Story…
Our Sadie was born with a heart condition called “Transposition of the Great Arteries”, which is when the two major arteries leaving the heart—the aorta and pulmonary artery—are switched. She also has situs inversus totalis, which means that all of her internal organs (her heart, stomach, spleen, liver) are on the opposite side of where ours are. So when she does the Pledge of Allegience, she will put her hand on the right side of her body, which is where her heart is - how cool!
Sadie had open heart surgery at just 2 days old to switch her arteries and has been doing great since! She will have yearly doctor appointments to check on her heart. This congenital heart defect affects every 1 in 100 babies! Join our team and let’s be SADIE STRONG!!!! 🫀
