My Story…
Hi everyone! I am not normally one to share fundraising opportunities (or run 5ks) but this one is really close to my heart. Please don’t feel any pressure, if all sharing does is raise awareness, then I feel fulfilled.
Our daughter Lauren Cate was born in June of 2024 with a Congenital Heart Defect- her primary diagnosis is Pulmonary Atresia with Intact Ventricular Septum, and she also has an Ebsteins Anomaly. Both of these cause additional complications. After birth, her intervention team made several attempts to open her pulmonary valve in the cath lab but ultimately at 17 days old, our warrior girl had open heart surgery. Since recovery, she has only made positive progress and she is thriving! But easing back into a new normal with peace of mind ,for families affected by CHD, is possible thanks to programs like the HEARTest Yard.
The HEARTest Yard is a program under Receptions for Research: The Greg Olsen Foundation, which supports families of children with congenital heart disease with in-home nursing care and comprehensive medical services at The HEARTest Yard Congenital Heart Center. They do this at no cost to the families- that is why this is such a great program, and why families like ours are so grateful to support it!
Donate to help Alicia raise money for HEARTest Yard + Showmars 5K’s fundraising campaign.
