My Story…
Hello, my name is Venessa Kalenith and I am 32 years old. 2 years ago I was verbally diagnosed with Upper Diaphragm Endometriosis. I've been dealing with debilitating pain for over half my life. Since I was 13 years old to be exact. I spent much of my life in and out of the hospital while on my menstruals and no one knew what was wrong. Often they'd say I'm just to anxious or its probably just heartburn or you have a low pain tolerance and that this is normal to experience when you are menstruating. Its was a struggle to find a Dr. that would take me seriously. But thankfully I did and now I'm on a 3 year waitlist to see an Endometriosis specialist for laproscopic surgery. This run is very important to me as I understand what it feels like to have this disease and to be brushed off by people who are supposed to be helping you. I think raising awareness will greatly help others to understand more about this disease and hopefully will help in getting diagnoses sooner.
