My Story…
This is my girlfriend, Weisha’s story:
I’ve lived with painful periods since I was a teenager—but I was always told it was “normal.”
At 21, the pain became unbearable. I started fainting in public—at the gym, on the TTC, even on the street—and was sent to the ER multiple times. Each time, I was dismissed and told to just take Advil.
I knew something wasn’t right.
After pushing for answers, I was finally referred to an OBGYN who immediately recognized my symptoms as endometriosis. For the first time, I felt heard.
Treatment hasn’t been simple. An IUD gave me three years of relief, but when it stopped working, the pain returned. Now I’m managing symptoms as best as I can while waiting for surgery.
I’m running to raise awareness and support for those living with endometriosis—because no one should have to fight this hard just to be taken seriously.
