Volunteer details
Will training be provided?
Yes. Volunteers will receive a brief orientation before the event held at the SECC Leamington office, including role expectations, safety information, and who to contact for support.
Orientation dates can be selected during registration:
- Saturday, May 30 @ 10 am
- Tuesday, June 2 @ 6 pm
What should I wear?
- SECC t-shirt will be provided at orientation.
- Comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor weather
- Closed-toe shoes
- Sunscreen, hat, or rain gear, depending on conditions
Can I volunteer with a friend or group?
Absolutely! Let us know during registration if you’d like to volunteer together, and we’ll do our best to place you in the same area.
Will food or refreshments be provided?
Light refreshments and water will be available for volunteers during their shift.
Can youth volunteer?
Yes! Youth volunteers are welcome! Children/youth not in high school must be accompanied by a parent/guardian who must also register to volunteer.
Who do I contact if I can’t attend my shift?
Please notify volunteer coordinator, Mark Wybenga as soon as possible so we can adjust assignments and ensure coverage.
Will volunteer hours be tracked?
Yes. We are happy to provide confirmation of volunteer hours for school, community service, or workplace requirements.
Transportation
Volunteers will need to have their own transportation to the orientation in Leamington and the event host site in Kingsville; transportation will not be provided.
