Our story…
Family and Friends,
As most of you know two years ago, my life changed forever. I contracted a severe strain of strep A and pneumonia, and within days I was in septic shock, fighting for my life. Doctors gave me 36 hours to live. Thanks to extraordinary medical care and the unwavering support of family and friends, I survived — but not without lasting impact. I became a bilateral below‑the‑knee amputee and also lost two fingers.
Before my illness, I had little understanding of physical disability — what accessibility, adaptation, or inclusion truly meant. Now I live it every day.
The Bionic Project’s mission deeply resonates with me. Through education, adaptive sport, storytelling, and design, they help students go beyond learning about disability to rethinking the world around them — public spaces, technology, media narratives, and what inclusion really looks like.
With 1 in 4 people in the U.S. living with a disability, this work matters. I’m honored to support The Bionic Project and participate in their annual race in Cambridge.
