RACE MECHANICS - SPONGEBOB RUN 2026

SAFETY
Participants must follow the instructions of all event officials (staff and volunteers). For participants’ safety, skates or strollers are not permitted. Costumes covering the face or any bulky outfit extending beyond the perimeter of the body are not permitted.

RUNRIO reserves the right to change the details of the event, including delaying, canceling, or suspending the race due to inclement weather or other potential safety risks. Participants must retire at once from the race if ordered to do so by event officials, medical staff, or any governmental authority, including firefighters and police officers.

SPORTSMANSHIP
Any participant who conducts himself/herself in an unsportsmanlike manner or who is offensive in action or language toward event officials, other participants, volunteers, or spectators may be disqualified.

Protests related to results will be entertained for up to one (1) hour after the posting of results. All protests must be made in writing and submitted to the event officials or sent to info@runrio.com. A non-refundable protest fee amounting to P5,000 is required. Verbal protests will not be entertained.

ENTRY FORM
All participants must provide accurate information, including age, gender, and emergency contact information, when filling out the event application form. It is strongly recommended that the closest family member in Manila be listed as the emergency contact person.

Requests for information changes will not be accepted once the event has started. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Entry fees are non-refundable and may not be deferred or transferred

AGE LIMIT

• 10K Category: Open to participants aged 16 years old and above.

• 3K and 5K Categories: Open to participants aged 13 years old and above.

• Children 12 years old and below may join the 3K or 5K provided they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Note: All participants under 18 years old must have parental or guardian consent and submit a signed entry form.

CATEGORIES & REGISTRATION FEES

*Fees are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be deferred.
*Processing and web admin fees are not included.

Participants below the age of 18 must secure parental/guardian consent and fill out the entry form, which must be signed by the parent/guardian.

RACE KIT COLLECTION

Stay tuned to our official social media pages for kit claiming dates and venues.
Instructions for ID verification will also be shared to ensure a smooth claiming process.

Race kit includes:

• Race Number/Bib with attached Timing Chip

• Official Event Shirt

• Official Race Socks

RACE NUMBER GUIDELINES

• Wear your bib visibly on the front throughout the race.

• Do not fold or cover the timing chip at the back of your race number.

• Fill in the emergency contact details (preferably of a Manila-based contact) at the back of the bib.

• Lost numbers require re-registration.

• Bibs are non-transferable. Selling or using someone else’s number results in disqualification and future bans.

TIMING & RESULTS

• Official time is recorded based on your start and finish chip time.

• Top finisher rankings will be determined by gun time (from the starting horn).

START & FINISH POINTS

• Route maps and start/finish locations will be released soon.

• Arrive early at your assigned assembly area.

• Climbing over barricades or entering improperly may lead to disqualification.

• Participants who start 15 minutes past their gun time will not be allowed to run.

• Race courses will close after the official cut-off time for each category.

ROUTE INFORMATION

• The course follows RUNRIO standards with proper hydration, medical stations, and restrooms.

• Stay within designated paths—going off-course may lead to disqualification.

• Unofficial pacers or outside assistance is strictly prohibited.

\HYDRATION STATIONS

• Water drink stations will be available every 1.5 to 2 KM.

• Please dispose of trash responsibly in provided bins. No littering.

MEDICAL SUPPORT

• Medical teams will be stationed at the start, finish, and throughout the route.

• Look for personnel in clearly marked medical vests or go to medical tents if needed.

• Use your mobile phones or seek help immediately if you or another runner needs assistance.

AWARDS & PRIZES

• The Top 3 finishers both male and female in each category will be awarded on-stage recognition and medals.

• Winners must be present during the awards ceremony to claim prizes.

POST-RACE ACTIVITIES

• Enjoy exciting post-race entertainment and sponsor booths at the Activity Zone.

• Collect your Finisher’s Medal, Beach Towel, and Tote Bag, and other goodies at the redemption area.

OFFICIAL RESULTS & CERTIFICATES

• Race results and certificates will be posted 1–2 days after the event on the official website.

• Make sure to input your registration details accurately to view results and download certificates.

CODE OF CONDUCT

• Respect fellow runners, volunteers, and staff.

• Unsportsmanlike behavior, offensive language, or harassment will lead to disqualification.

Protests:

• Must be submitted in writing (on-site or via info@runrio.com) within one hour of result posting.

• Verbal protests will not be accepted.

PHOTOS & MEDIA

By joining the race, you grant consent for the use of your image by official race photographers and videographers for marketing and promotional purposes.

SAFETY & PROHIBITED ITEMS

Follow all instructions from event staff. The following are not allowed:

• Weapons, sharp objects

• Explosives, fireworks, flammable items

• Large bags, coolers, tents

• Strollers, unofficial drones

• Costumes that cover the face or extend beyond body size

RULE CHANGES

RUNRIO Inc. reserves the right to modify event details, rules, and regulations without prior notice, including postponement or cancellation due to weather or safety concerns. Participants are responsible for staying updated and following all race guidelines.
