The Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot is the largest Thanksgiving Day event of its kind in the country. Starting from humble beginnings in 1967 at White Rock Lake, it has grown into the undisputed "Dallas' Way to Start Thanksgiving Day".

The TIMED start takes off at 8:30 am (8 Mile and 5K) and will include an exclusive, Timed Participant Corral for this 8 mile or 5K run/walk. Only Timed participants will be allowed in this area prior to the 8:30 am start time. For the safety of other runners, NO DOGS OR STROLLERS will be allowed into the timed runner corral. You can still be timed, and your time will not start until you cross the start line, but we ask that you line up outside of the timed runner corral.

Join us virtually and complete your 5K or 8-mile race at a location of your choice. You can run or walk your race and complete it anytime between November 19 and December 3. Virtual participants can choose to have their packet mailed for a small extra charge or pick up their packet for free at regular packet picket locations/hours. Your confirmation number and last name can be used to confirm your registration before submitting your results. Results can be posted to the Virtual Leaderboard starting on November 19th until December 3rd.

Diaper Dash
It is Trot’s new race for babies who are crawling. The crawling space will be a soft mat approximately 12ft, it’s the perfect distance for mini athletes to showcase their speedy skills. There will be 7 start times beginning at 8:30 AM and ending at 11:00 AM. Each slot is 30 minutes of pure, adorable action! Every participant will receive a long sleeve onesie, available in sizes 9mo, 12mo, and 18mo. To make the day even more special, each baby will get a bib adorned with the picture of the medal they’re competing for! The $15 fee includes the onesie and cloth bib. The Roost is the ultimate gathering spot for families, runners, and walkers to fuel up before The Trot. Space is limited—so don’t wait! Purchase your pass when you register to secure your spot.

Pass Options
Standard Pass – Includes all of the above.
Premium Pass* – Includes all Standard Pass benefits plus two premium beverages: Beer, Wine, or Mimosas. Irish coffee and Irish hot chocolate.
Children 6 and under enter free with an adult. Children ages 7-12 can join for $15 with the purchase of an adult ticket.
*Must be 21+ to consume alcohol. Be prepared to show identification upon request by Turkey Trot volunteers, officials, security, or police officers. No refunds or exchanges will be issued for any reason.
Team Challenge - Timed 5K
- This registration offering is great for corporations, families, friends, and co-workers.
- Available in the TIMED 5K ONLY distance, the Team Challenge allows you to create a team during registration.
- Share your team name with others and they can join when they register.
- The number of participants on a team is unlimited (minimum 4), and the top 4 runners' times will count for team scoring. Each of the top 4 runners times will be added together, and the fastest team will be deemed the winner!
- Team times and winners will be determined post-event. A complete list of team times will be displayed online. All individual times will be posted on race day shortly after the event.

All registered event participants are eligible to join – just opt in during your race registration. If you love to have fun and aren’t afraid to show your silly side, this contest is for you!
