Safe Families for Children Alliance

Each year in the U.S. there are more than 400,000 children in the child welfare system. In many of these reported cases families desire to parent well, but are living in isolation and lack a compassionate community of support.

Founded in 2003, Safe Families for Children is fueled by radical hospitality, disruptive generosity, and intentional compassion. Through compassionate volunteers, we build a network to support families in social isolation facing crisis. Our goals are to prevent child neglect, reduce the number of children entering the child welfare system, and support families in their time of need. Lydia Home Association has been serving children and providing HOPE HEALING and HOME to children in Chicago since 1916 through their residential care, intact services, counseling, safe families PLUS, and foster care programs.
