My Story…
Hi! I’m Chrissie Lyons, and I am leading the Arrows of Hope team to support Lydia Home and Safe Families.
This mission is deeply personal to me because I am a Lydia kid. I lived at Lydia for three years, so I know firsthand how much it matters when children connected to Lydia and Safe Families have people who show up for them.
I have several stories of people who showed up for me while I lived at Lydia. Those moments touched me so deeply that I still carry them today. I felt seen, cared about, and loved by someone in the world. That helped lay a foundation that allowed me to keep believing in the world, in myself, and in my dreams. It helped me believe it was worth fighting to reach my full potential.
And what a journey my life became. I went on to build a family I love, make the USA Archery Team, become a World Games silver medalist, set five world records, and be named World Archery Americas Athlete of the Year. I found purpose, community, and a life where I am not alone anymore.
A child who is seen and supported can grow into a life they never imagined.
Now I have the chance to come back and help the next kids.
I started Arrows of Hope because I want to use archery to give children confidence, encouragement, connection, and hope. Archery changed my life, and I believe it can give kids a place to feel seen, supported, and capable of reaching for something bigger.
This walk is one of the ways we are fundraising for that mission. Funds raised through our team will be earmarked for Arrows of Hope programs.
Please consider joining the Arrows of Hope team and fundraising with us. You can walk in person or join as a virtual walker. If you cannot walk or fundraise, a donation helps us serve more children and families.
Most importantly, please share the Arrows of Hope team page and mission. The more people we reach, the more this mission grows.
I know what it means when someone shows up for a child. Now, through Arrows of Hope, we have the chance to show up for so many more.
Let’s do this!
