We love safe families and it provides an incredibly valuable resource to those in need. My mother in law works for safe families and she and the organization have been a great inspiration to my family and I.

Safe Families helps families and mothers who are in need by helping in lots of different ways. Volunteers can be host families and mentors etc and Safe Families exists to keep kids out of the welfare system. Many of the moms and families are low income from what I understand and they lack resources and people around them. Sometimes they are even homeless and they know they need to temporarily leave their child or children to live with a safe, loving family while they get back on their feet. Kids can stay with host families from anywhere to a few nights to years. Can be on and off, and the biological parents can grow to be really close with the host families. It’s really a beautiful thing.
