My Story…
After an uneventful pregnancy, healthy, normal screenings, tests, ultrasounds, no complications, text book low risk, baby boy Kairos was born at 40 weeks 6 days, on December 10, 2025 at 4:25pm. He arrived after 36 hrs of labour. He was wide awake with stunning green eyes and dirty blond hair. He stared at me as his dad cried for the first time in many years. I said "hi baby" and wished him a happy birthday. After stimulation attempts on my chest and clearing his mouth, the cord was cut and Kairos was moved to a warmer to be worked on. Despite stimulation attempts, bagging, intubation, compressions, medication, thoughts and prayers, calling out encouragement, a swarm of at least 20 medical professionals trying everything possible, Kairos was pronounced dead at 5pm. I screamed and our world stopped. I denied and bargained and did not cry, because I knew this was a dream and I would wake up. I have yet to wake up from this nightmare.
