The Great Buffalo Chase 2.5K

Join us for a 2.5k Fun Run on Saturday, July 4. All ages and fitness levels welcome.

Kick off Independence Day with a burst of energy and excitement at the 25th Annual Great Buffalo Chase, happening Saturday, July 4 at 8:00 AM.

We will again be hosting a 2.5K Fun Run—perfect for all ages and fitness levels. We're putting the spotlight on festive flair, so come dressed in your most patriotic, creative, and outrageous July 4th costume!

Prizes will be awarded to the best-dressed participants during our lively post-race award ceremony, so don’t hold back on the red, white, and blue!

Costume Contest Age Groups:

  • Under 21
  • 21-29
  • 30-39
  • 40-49
  • 50-59
  • 60+
  • Best Pet Costume

But that’s not all! We’re still keeping the competition alive with prizes for the top three overall male and female finishers:

  • 1st Place: $500Gift Shop Gift Card

  • 3rd Place: $100Gift Shop Gift Card

Whether you're racing to win or running for fun, join us for a morning full of fitness, fun, and patriotic celebration!

Registration fee is $25 before June 24; $30 thereafter. The race will be a chip-timed race and limited to the first 750 runners. Register to participate before July 2, at 12pm.

Registered participants will have the option to pick up race materials, which include a commemorative t-shirt and bib, from Buffalo Trace Distillery on July 3 from 4pm – 6pm or day of race starting at 6:30am.

All registration proceeds benefit the Frankfort Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4075.

In-Person Registration

Registered participants will have the option to pick up race materials, which include a commemorative t-shirt and bib, from Buffalo Trace Distillery on July 3 from 4pm – 6pm or day of race starting at 6:30am.

For in-person pick-up. Please park in the Visitor Parking Lot. Follow signs from the parking lot to the Clubhouse for packet pick-up.

Due to limited time prior to the race, we do not offer in person registration.

Virtual Registration

Can’t join us in-person? We invite you to join the 25th annual Great Buffalo Chase © virtually! Participate by walking or running from the location of your choice. The virtual race can be completed any time between July 2 – July 4. Register to participate before July 2, at 12pm. Registration fee is $25 before June 24; $30 thereafter.

All participants will have race materials mailed to them, which include a commemorative t-shirt, for an added $10 shipping & handling fee. Register by Tuesday, June 24 to allow race materials to be shipped and delivered in time for the race.
