Our story…
Hi, I’m Jonah and I’m the captain of Jonah and the Truly Terrific Team!
I wanted to be part of Walk Your Way because: I went to Ben James Summer Camp and I really enjoyed it and want to help other kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This year I learned that: autism is a part of me, and I wanted to help other autistic kids and families because: I am loving and caring.
One thing I hope people know is that: I’m 6 and my family would never be better.
My favourite part about my team is: mostly family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you decide to walk with us, donate, or cheer us on, you can be part of our terrific team too!
And just as the name says, my team really is terrific!
Love,
Jonah
(A note from us, Jonah’s Parents ❤️)
Thank you so much for cheering Jonah on and supporting his “big heart” (his words!). We are grateful for every person who has welcomed, encouraged, and celebrated Jonah (and us!) along the way.
One of the most meaningful parts of our journey has been seeing him find spaces where he feels understood, accepted, and celebrated for exactly who he is. After a wonderful week at Ben James Summer Camp earlier this summer, Jonah wanted to help support programs that create those same experiences for other autistic kids and their families.
We are so very proud.
Jonah created the team name and designed the mascot himself — a rainbow rocket-riding cat named Saffy, complete with heart-shaped sunglasses and a tiara (because of course). It feels like the perfect way to celebrate the things he loves and the joy he brings to the world 🌈😻🚀
