Help Chrissy raise money

When you are diagnosed with breast cancer, your life flashes before your eyes and you begin to wonder about how you are going to get through it, and what do you need to do to ring the bell.  When I was diagnosed at the age of 41 with metastatic breast cancer, all I could ask was what do I do, to watch my 10-year-old son grow up.  Only 35% of Metastatic breast cancer patients live past 5 years from their diagnosis. On December 1, 2026, I will have been living with MBC for 4 years and my son will be 14.  I plan to be here to watch him graduate high school, college, get married, and hopefully hold my own grandbabies.  

The research and awareness for Metastatic Breast Cancer is so urgent and important.  From 2013-2020, less than 13% of breast cancer research funds were dedicated to MBC. More than half of the time, breast cancer patients face a reoccurrence that is diagnosed as metastatic, meaning the cancer has spread from the original spot in the breast to either bones, organs, or lymph nodes. To date, I have had metastasis on my liver, spine, lymph nodes, and most recently my left rotator cuff.

At this time, there is no cure for either breast cancer or metastatic breast cancer.  Together we can work towards not only extending the lives of metastatic patients but also advocating better treatment plans, clinical testing and day to day support.  My prayers are for the scientists working with Metavivor to find a cure.

My goal this year is to raise $10,000 as last year our team was very close, and would love to have a team of 100.  If you are able to walk and donate, I love it!  If you are only available to walk or donate, that is also appreciated.  If you are busy that day or don’t have the funds, please share.  My story may touch someone else affected by metastatic breast cancer, that would like to join my team or donate.
