Hey everyone…

I’m once again participating in Walk for Camp Wendake … this is an organization I’ve been a part of for several years now.  I’ve set a personal goal of $500 for this years walk.  If you’re able to help me reach this, I’d be extremely grateful for your support.  It’s an incredible organization, and I’m happy to once again be one of the people participating in their annual walk.

For those needing some more information on the camp:
Camp Wendake is a one-week retreat camp located just outside of Bayfield, for children and adults living with HIV/AIDS and their primary care givers. This camp gives those infected and affected by this disease a chance to be in a supportive environment with peers facing similar challenges in their daily lives. It is the only camp of its kind, in Ontario.  Camp Wendake promotes spiritual healing, physical well-being, and a chance for social interaction, which many people living with HIV/AIDS do not otherwise have. The camp welcomes approximately 80+ campers and another 40+ volunteers from across Ontario. Operational costs for the weeklong retreat are approximately $40,000->$45,000, covering everything from meals to transportation. We rely on private and corporate donations to cover all these costs as we have no government funding.
Camp Wendake was created in 1996...and since then has provided more than 2000 participants with an opportunity to be in “a place set apart”. Camp Wendake is staffed and governed entirely by community volunteers.
