My Story…

Please support my involvement in this race supporting funds for the Cleghorn Program. The Program does amazing work supporting young people experiencing the early phases of significant mental illness, and can be pivotal to making a difference in their journey. These funds will be used for improving the lives of the young people we work with, including with comfort funds, support for client initiatives and projects, and group activities for our clients. I am fortunate to work with such an amazing team, and happy to do this run with the team. Thank you for your support!

Description

I am participating in A Run for Chris in honour of Chris Owens. On August 20, 2021, at the age of 26, Chris lost his battle with mental health and substance use.

This year, we’re raising funds for St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton’s Cleghorn Early Intervention Clinic, which supports youth aged 14–35 experiencing early psychosis through a specialized interprofessional team.

Early intervention can make a life-changing difference—supporting recovery, independence, relationships, education, and employment.
