Surgical Strides Global Health Foundation

Surgical Strides Global Health Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing equitable access to surgical care through sustainable global health partnerships, education, and outreach initiatives.

Founded by healthcare professionals in Alberta, the foundation collaborates with international partners to support surgical education, capacity building, and access to specialized care in underserved communities. Through fundraising, advocacy, and community engagement, Surgical Strides Global Health Foundation helps create opportunities for long-term, locally driven healthcare improvements worldwide.

A current focus of the foundation’s work is supporting airway and reconstructive surgical care through partnerships with healthcare teams in western Kenya. In collaboration with local surgeons, trainees, and hospitals, the team supports education, hands-on surgical training, mentorship, infrastructure development, and the procurement of essential medical equipment needed to perform advanced airway reconstruction procedures safely and sustainably.

These complex surgeries can be life-changing for patients living with airway obstruction, injury, or limited access to specialized surgical care. By investing in training and sustainable partnerships, the program aims to empower local healthcare teams to independently provide advanced surgical care long into the future.

Every fundraiser, donation, and community event helps support this mission and contributes to building safer, more accessible surgical care worldwide.
