The Magic of Christmas

Christmas magic comes but once a year. Have you spotted the jolly, bearded man in red delivering joy to those in need?

The Magic of Christmas is a 100% volunteer, non-denominational charity based in the city of Calgary. Their mission is to deliver Christmas spirit into the homes and hearts of those who need it most and invite everyone to believe (again!) in the true spirit and The Magic of Christmas.

Every Christmas Eve, they load up Calgary Transit buses, magically transformed into “reindeer buses,” with hundreds of gifts and volunteers dressed as Santa and his elves. Then, they do what they do best—deliver Christmas spirit into the homes and hearts of those who need it most, visiting over 800 families on Christmas Eve.

It’s magic you’ll want to be a part of.

From their humble beginning in 1983, The Magic of Christmas has grown to a volunteer family of 6,000+ Santas and elves. Every Christmas Eve, their charity:

• uses donated Calgary Transit buses, which they magically transform into Santa’s reindeer;
• sends over 650 volunteer Santa’s and elves out on 6.5-hour bus shifts;
• visits over 650 families across the city, delivering gifts, joy, hugs and food hampers; and
• brings cheer to over 4,500 people in hospitals, care homes and other institutions.

"Please know this: what you gave our children was far greater than anything we could have offered in return. You gave them magic. You gave them wonder. You gave them a special memory that will live with them for the rest of their lives.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for visiting our home and for creating such a meaningful and unforgettable Christmas experience for our children.

Your kindness, time, and generosity mean more than words can ever fully express" - Donation Recipient Testimony
