Our story…
On September 12, 2020, Bernard suffered a massive stroke that changed our lives in an instant. After months in hospitals and inpatient rehabilitation, he came home facing significant physical and neurological challenges. Nearly six years later, he continues to fight, work, and push forward.
Project Walk has become an important part of that journey. It’s more than therapy—it’s a community. The trainers challenge Bernard, push him beyond what he thinks he can do, celebrate every accomplishment, and never stop expecting more from him. Just as important is the camaraderie—the laughter, encouragement, friendships, and being surrounded by people who understand that progress looks different for everyone.
Bernard may not recover everything the stroke took from him, but at Project Walk, the focus is always on what he CAN do and what he can do next.
That’s why Team Giddings is walking, running, and rolling again this year. We’re supporting a place that continues to give Bernard and so many others the opportunity to keep moving, keep working, and keep fighting.
Every step. Every roll. Every victory. Stronger Together. ❤️
