Help Shawna raise money

It's that time of year again — when the elves come out of hiding, the weather turns absolutely ridiculous, and I apparently lose all common sense and sign up for the Jingle Bell Run in support of Community Living Essex.

The whole thing started when a suspiciously cheerful elf appeared at my door during a freezing rainstorm, carrying a clipboard and what I can only assume was a legally binding candy cane. He explained that Santa’s workshop had a serious shortage of people who could tie shoelaces, survive Canadian winter weather, and raise money for a good cause. Naturally, I was recruited.

Now, here I am, preparing to jingle my way through whatever Mother Nature throws at us — snow, sleet, freezing rain, or an elf pelting me with candy canes. Why? Because I’ve learned that apparently my obscure talent for looking festive while questioning all my life choices can actually help make a difference!

Community Living Essex supports people with intellectual disabilities to live fuller, more inclusive lives in our community. And that’s a cause worth braving a little bad weather, a lot of jingle bells, and possibly frostbite to support.
