❤️ Every Step Is Personal: Running for David and Everyone Affected by Cancer

Two cancers. Two surgeries. One team. One very personal reason to keep moving forward.

On Sunday, October 25, David and I will be taking on the 5K trail race at Hybrid Heart, the inaugural race at Wesley Clover Parks in Ottawa. We’re running together for a cause that has become deeply personal to us: supporting the Ottawa Cancer Foundation and everyone whose life has been touched by cancer.

Over the past three years, David has faced two different cancers and undergone two separate surgeries. Today, he continues his journey with hormone therapy, with radiation treatments still ahead.

Cancer has a way of changing your perspective on life. It reminds you not to take the ordinary moments for granted, to appreciate the people who stand beside you, and to recognize just how important support can be when life takes an unexpected turn.

For us, this race is about more than crossing a finish line. It’s about David. It’s about us. And it’s about every person and family facing the challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis.

We have had just three weeks to train for this 5K, so we may not be breaking any records! But we are showing up with determination, gratitude, and a whole lot of heart. Every step we take is a reminder that we’re moving forward together.

We are also incredibly grateful to the sponsors who are helping make this event possible. In particular, we want to recognize Nobility Performance, whose support, kindness, and care over the past few years have meant so much to us. They have been exceptional, and we are truly thankful to have them in our corner.
