My Story…
In 2026, in my 30s, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer after discovering a lump, with no family history. What followed was a journey I never expected, including multiple procedures, three surgeries, radiation, and a battle that changed my life forever. On August 3rd, I rang the radiation bell, marking the end of radiation but not the end of my fight, as I continue taking steps to reduce my risk of recurrence.
Throughout this journey, the love and support of my family, friends, and incredible medical team have been my greatest strength. We made the trips from State College to Pittsburgh for my care, and looking back, it was the best decision we could have made. I am beyond grateful for the expertise, compassion, and dedication of the people who helped guide me through some of the hardest moments of my life.
A special thank you to Dr. Marks, Dr. Diego, and Dr. Moreira for the exceptional care, support, and guidance you provided throughout this journey. You have made a lasting impact on my life, and I will forever be grateful.
I’m running this race to show that you can do hard things, you’re never too young to be diagnosed with breast cancer, and you’re never alone in the fight. This race represents my strength, my incredible support system, and the future I’m continuing to fight for. Every step is a reminder of how far I’ve come, the people who have carried me through, and the hope that keeps me moving forward.
One step at a time. One fight at a time. Always moving forward! 💗
