My Story…
My grandmother—Nonie to me, Camille McGreevy Peck to most, and Dr. Peck to many—was my best friend. She dedicated her life to advocating for children with special needs across America.
I am who I am today because of the strength, resilience, and compassion she instilled in me. Nonie battled Parkinson’s disease for 14 years, and through it all, she remained the most incredible grandmother I could have ever asked for. Her strength and love continue to inspire me every day.
I’m proud to raise money for the Parkinson’s Foundation Western Pennsylvania in her honor at the Pittsburgh Half Marathon. I’ve completed one full marathon, and this will be my ninth half marathon, but there is no one I’d rather run for than Nonie. I’m especially grateful to run alongside one of my best friends, Lily Pérez, whom I know Nonie would have loved and adored.
I love you, Nonie. This race, every race before it, and every race still to come will always be for you.
