2027 TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS
Pregnancy Policy
The TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS has implemented a formal policy regarding pregnancy, allowing registered participants to defer their entry if they are unable to participate due to being pregnant, recently pregnant, or undergoing fertility treatments. The following policy covers both expectant parents.
Those who have registered for the event but have since become pregnant or have started fertility treatments may defer their participation towards a non-complimentary entry to a future TCS Sydney Marathon event within a two-year timeframe. For instance, if a participant registers for the 2027 TCS Sydney Marathon, they may defer their entry to either 2028 or 2029. Pregnancy and postpartum deferrals cannot be used more than once sequentially. If you choose to defer your 2027 entry, you cannot defer again until 2030. Entries are not entitled to a refund or transfer to another participant.
Entries not redeemed within two years of the original year of purchase and within the communicated registration deadlines will no longer be valid.
To qualify for deferral under the pregnancy policy, participants must provide written confirmation of their circumstances with an anticipated due date. If undergoing fertility treatment, the written confirmation must include the treatment start date. Accepted forms of documentation must be on official medical letterhead and signed by a doctor, registered midwife or obstetrician.
Requests for deferral, along with the required written confirmation, must be submitted via email to info@sydneymarathon.com no later than 5:00pm AEST on 13 August 2027. No deferrals will be accepted after this date. Please note that if both parents are requesting a deferral, both must submit requests in writing, and for all partners, their name must appear on the documentation. Event organisers must respond with acceptance of medical documentation for the deferral to be valid.
