My Triathlon Journey
At age 59, a friend said she would do the triathlon (the shorter super sprint) with me, so I reluctantly registered for my 1st triathlon. I was not in good shape and hadn't worked out in many years. Fear of injury motivated me to join a gym and work with a trainer. I knew myself well enough to know that if I didn't have an appointment with a trainer, I probably wouldn't go work out. Plus, there is a gym 5 minutes from my home, so I didn't really have any excuses. I was very nervous for my 1st triathlon, but completed all 3 parts of the super sprint injury-free. I was excited by the massive amount of support both in advance of the triathlon and during the race. It was REALLY FUN! So, I had to sign up for the next one. One hundred pounds lighter, I completed my 2nd and 3rd triathlons. In 2026, I finally made it up the big hill on the bike portion! 2027 will be my 4th triathlon. Please help me support this wonderful program. Maybe you'd like to try a triathlon in 2027, too.
