My Story…
My fiancé and I will be running the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon in Duluth, Minnesota, to raise funds and awareness for Mission 22 in honor of Jake Stafford.
Jake was a United States Army Green Beret and my brother’s best friend who tragically lost his life to suicide. Jake and my brother had always joked about who would run a marathon first. Now, my brother will be taking on his first full marathon that same day to honor Jake’s memory and fulfill something they had talked about together.
We knew we wanted to be there to support my brother, but we also wanted to do something meaningful ourselves. By running 13.1 miles and fundraising for Mission 22, we hope to honor Jake’s life, raise awareness about veteran suicide, and support veterans and families facing similar struggles.
Every mile is for Jake, for those we’ve lost, and for those still fighting battles we may never see.

I’m proud to take on the 2027 Grandma's Marathon Weekend as part of the Mission 22 team. By supporting my fundraising page, you’re helping Mission 22 continue its work supporting veterans and their families through programs designed to address the challenges that can come with life after service.
Mission 22 provides veterans and their families with meaningful support through programs including veteran treatment, spouse support, memorial services, and the Ambassador Program - creating connection, community, and resources for those who have served and those who stand beside them.
Every donation makes a difference and helps Mission 22 continue this important work.
