My Story…
I’m running the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon to raise money for Program for Aid to Victims of Sexual Assault (PAVSA). As a college student at UMD, I get to see firsthand the impact PAVSA has on my campus and how it helps so many UMD students. Knowing that this organization makes a difference in the lives of people around me makes this cause especially meaningful to me.
It can be so easy to repost something on social media, spread awareness, and then move on with our day. While raising awareness is important, I want to take another step and turn that awareness into action. Every donation, no matter how small, helps PAVSA continue its work and support survivors in our community. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page is another way to make a difference.
Description
PAVSA is dedicated to the elimination of sexual violence in Southern St. Louis County through supporting victims, educating the community, and advocating for change. Our core values include free and accessible services that are victim-centered and victim-driven. We are committed to providing support services for victims of sexual violence, educating and building awareness in the community and advocating for social change in the many systems that interact with victims following a sexual assault.
