Get ready for the race by attending Empowered LIVE! starting at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at Holiday Inn Manhattan at the Campus. A selection of sweet and savory foods will be available; meal tickets are $20 and can be purchased online via the Speedy PD registration page or by calling (785) 323-3899. Attendance is free for those not wishing to eat. At 6:30 p.m. we will learn from two gentlemen with Young Onset Parkinson's disease, Matt Schindler of Manhattan, KS and Steve Iseman of Toronto, Canada. They will present about their experience pedaling from Chicago to Phoenix on Route 66 for the World Parkinson Congress. $20 for adults, $12 for kids.
