Now in it's 12th year, the BMA River 2 Reef Ride Festival is a mass participation charity ride that raises funds for local charities - RACQ CQ Rescue and Mackay Sporting Wheelies & Disabled Association. The event is a much-loved cycling event in the Mackay region designed to bring the community together and encourage more people to become active and involved in cycling.
This year the BMA River 2 Reef Ride Festival will be held over 2 amazing days at Mackay Botanic Gardens. Participants can choose from the following events:
- Saturday 7th October 2023
- Golding Kids Colour Ride (Kids aged 5 to 12yrs)
- Sunday 8th October 2023
- 30km Queensland Country Bank | Health Dash
- 60km City Fitness Epic
- 100km Corry Cycles Gran Fondo
BMA River 2 Reef Ride jerseys not included in the registration fee, however can be purchased for $30.00 with all proceeds going to Charity.

Start 6.30am on Sunday 8th October 2023 (arrive 5.45am)
Starting at the Botanic Gardens Amphitheatre, riders will then ride to Dumbleton Weir where they will enjoy a light refreshment before continuing on to Nebia-Conningsby Road where they will turn around and ride back to the Event Hub. There will be food trucks, coffee and entertainment at the Start/Finish line. Keep an eye open for our event photographers and please respect our event Volunteers.
6.15am on Sunday 8th October 2023 (arrive 5.45am)
Starting and finishing at the Botanic Gardens Amphitheatre, participants will ride to the end of River Road (Marju-Yakapari) and turn at the dirt before heading back to Nebia Conningsby. Here participants will head out to Habana Hall for a refreshment and head back in via Glenella. There will be food trucks, coffee and entertainment at the Start/Finish line. 5.30am on Sunday 8th October 2023 (arrive 5am)
Starting and finishing at the Botanic Gardens Amphitheatre, participants will ride out along Doyles Road to Marian Hampden Road before heading for Maraju Yakapari Road to Balnagowan, out along Nubia Conningsby Road and Farleigh Habana Road before heading back along Mackay Habana Road to Glenella Connection Road and finishing at Botanic Gardens Amphitheatre. There will be food trucks, coffee and entertainment at the Start/Finish line. Keep an eye open for our event photographers and please respect our event Volunteers.
