Into its 4th decade and still going strong, the Hatuma Half Marathon is very much a highlight on the local sporting calendar.
From humble beginnings back in 1980, a group of running enthusiast friends got together and took on the challenge to create a running event here in Central Hawke's Bay. Since then the event has continued to grow and has built up a reputation for being a well organised event to be shared with family & friends event in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
The Hatuma Half Marathon starts and finishes at the Waipukurau Racecourse. This picturesque venue is able to accommodate ample off-street parking and has picnic areas and facilities.
The course takes in the entire circumference of Lake Whatumā, going in a clockwise direction. This mostly flat course, with a 5km stretch of undulations (around the 10-15km mark), provides for a very pleasant and scenic event that continues to attract both local and outside participants.
Enter as an individual, as a group or as a relay team in either the walking or running sections for either the Half Marathon or 10km options.
Teams compete as a relay, each completing one or more sections of the course. Max 4 people.
***All entrants are required to check-in on arrival.***
