Swimmer Tow Floats

At the 2025 event Swimmers will have the option of using a Swimmer Tow Float, OR having a paddler.
The tow float goes around the waist (adjustable) and floats on the surface of the water behind the swimmer, not interrupting the swimmers stroke.
It helps visualise the swimmer from a long range, which is useful for skippers navigating through swimmers, and keep an eye on their own swimmer.
It gives the option of not having to have a paddler
It gives the option of having a paddler pull out for a rest, and being replaced by the swimmer tow float.
Tandem Swimmers in the 25km MUST have a paddler for the first 5km loop for feeding purposes. They can then choose if they both have a swimmer tow float or a paddler.
DUOS AND TEAMS – must have a 2 floats to rotate between, so that all swimmers in the water has one on at all times and they don’t have to change over in the water
SOLOS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO HOLD ONTO THE FLOAT FOR ASSISTANCE, just like touching the kayak or boat, they will be disqualified.
Port to Pub Floats must be used so the colour is uniform
