What is Biketoberfest?
Biketoberfest is Sustain Charlotte’s signature event -- and our largest fundraiser!
Now in its 12th year, this one-of-a-kind community adventure invites you to explore Charlotte’s diverse neighborhoods, visit local businesses, and discover the people, places, and experiences that make our city special.
Whether you’re an experienced cyclist, a casual rider, or simply looking for a fun day outdoors with family and friends, Biketoberfest is a memorable way to experience Charlotte while supporting Sustain Charlotte’s work to create a more equitable, connected, and healthy community.
How does it work?
Sustain Charlotte creates a route through Uptown and multiple surrounding neighborhoods, featuring stops at local businesses, landmarks, parks, greenways, and other destinations.
The route uses public streets, greenways, sidewalks, transit facilities, and other spaces that remain open to ordinary traffic and public use.
New this year, participants will use the mobile-friendly Goosechase platform to follow the route and complete missions for points!
Explore at your own pace while biking, walking, scootering, or using public transit (maybe even combining a few!).
There's no one way to experience Biketoberfest. And, as always, costumes are encouraged!
The adventure culminates in an after-party at Triple C Brewing featuring live music, local vendors, food and drinks for purchase, Triple C’s limited-release Biketoberfest Beer, and raffle drawings for prizes donated by generous local businesses.
How does fundraising work?
When you register, a personal fundraising page will be created for you. We’re asking every participant to extend their Biketoberfest impact by raising at least $100 through a personal gift and invitations to friends and family.
Fundraising is optional, but our collective opportunity is enormous: if 500 participants each reach their $100 goal, together we’ll raise $50,000 toward our $70,000 Biketoberfest goal.
You can get started by making a gift during registration. When prompted, apply the donation to your own fundraising page, and it will count toward your $100 goal.
Every dollar supports Sustain Charlotte’s year-round work to create safer streets, expand transportation choices, encourage responsible growth, and build a healthier, more equitable, and connected region.
