What is Sustain Charlotte's Biketoberfest?
Biketoberfest is Sustain Charlotte's signature event! Now in its 12th year, it's a one-of-a-kind community adventure that's uniquely Charlotte. Explore the city and its diverse neighborhoods, visit local businesses, and discover the people, places, and experiences that capture the spirit of Charlotte.
Whether you're an experienced cyclist, a casual rider, or just looking for a fun day outdoors with family and friends, Biketoberfest is a unique way to experience and celebrate Charlotte while supporting Sustain Charlotte's work to create a more equitable, connected, and healthy community by inspiring responsible growth and transportation choices.
How does Biketoberfest work?
The Sustain Charlotte team creates a curated Biketoberfest route featuring stops at local businesses, landmarks, parks, greenways, and other destinations across Charlotte. New this year, participants will use Goosechase, a mobile-friendly scavenger hunt platform, to follow the route and complete “missions” to earn points along the way. Explore at your own pace while biking, walking, scootering, using public transit—or combining a few! There's no one way to experience Biketoberfest. And, as always, costumes are encouraged!
Biketoberfest ends with an after-party at Triple C Brewing, where participants can enjoy live music, food and drinks for purchase, local vendors, and Triple C's limited-release Biketoberfest Beer! Use your raffle tickets for chances to take home prizes from our generous local businesses (go to the "Raffle" section to check out the many donors to this year's raffle!).
How does Biketoberfest fundraising work?
When you register for Biketoberfest, a personal fundraising page will be created for you automatically. Fundraising is highly encouraged, but completely optional; there is no requirement to raise additional funds. If you'd like to participate, we suggest setting a $100 goal and sharing your page with your family, friends, and others who may be interested in supporting you and Sustain Charlotte. Every dollar raised helps increase the impact of Biketoberfest and supports Sustain Charlotte's work.

Route Participant: Child (12 and under)
Youth 12 and under are welcome to participate in Biketoberfest with a parent/legal guardian! Biketoberfest is not a race and is not timed. Participants go at their own pace and can complete as much as the route as they'd like!
