This race honors the life and achievements of Christopher R. Lopez who passed away September 26, 2009. Chris was a varsity cross-country runner at Yreka High School in Yreka, California.
The race is held annually in June at Greenhorn Park in Yreka which has miles of dirt trail and one mile of paved, ranging from flat to very steep.
There are three races offered, a 1-mile fun run and a 5K and 10k trail run. Chris was a tough runner and this course compliments his diverse running style by encompassing all terrains and offering an, at times, unpredictable running environment.
Majority of proceeds earned from the Chris Lopez Classic will be donated to the Chris Lopez Memorial Scholarship Fund which awards two scholarships to worthy cross-country runners from Yreka, Etna, or Mt. Shasta High Schools.
Family Pricing - we offer a special pricing of $40 for families of 3 or more in the 1 mile walk only. This is not available through online registration. Please download entry forms from our website at http://chrislopezclassic.org. A separate entry form is required for each family member.

Shirts
Dri-Fit shirts are guaranteed to all participants who register by May 31st. After May 31st shirts will be available on a first-come, first-come basis.
If you would like to purchase a shirt but do not wish to participate in either the walk or run, you may do so through online registration by selecting the "Shirt Only" option. The price of the shirt is $13 plus a $2.50 processing fee.
