The Battle Fitness Test
All gear will be provided with the exception of clothing and footwear.
(10 spots available to highest bidders or group - Make your bid when you register!)
The physical fitness of our soldiers is an essential element of our warrior spirit. Participation in regular fitness programs and maintaining a fitness mentality are key ingredients to ensure our soldiers are fit to fight. All military personnel serving in the Canadian Army are required to complete the Land Forces Command Physical Fitness Standards, otherwise known as the Battle Fitness Test (BFT). The BFT is an annual physical fitness test that challenges the physical and mental fitness and toughness of our soldiers while conducting realistic tasks expected of our soldiers during operations.
A BFT test consists of a 13 km forced march, followed by a 25 meter soldier drag (casualty evacuation). The 13 km march must be completed within 2 hrs 26 minutes and 20 seconds carrying a total weight of 24.5kg/53.9lbs. There is no time limit for the casualty evacuation portion, but it must be a continuous drag without stopping to rest. The extra weight consists of the load-bearing tactical vest, the soldier's helmet, rucksack, and simulated C7 service rifle with sling.
The Delta Company BFT Challenge
Delta Company has arranged for up to 10 of the highest bidders to accompany our troops on their BFT March only - no soldier drag. All equipment will be provided. You will need to provide comfortable clothing, appropriate footwear and a determined positive attitude. Are you up to the challenge?
If so, you will be required to sign a waiver declaring your physical fitness and exonerating all organizers, sponsors and volunteers.
