Autumn Harvest 10 Miler 2013

This year we will be hosting our Signature Award Ceremony during the 17th Annual Mayor's & CO's Levee at the Brantford Armouries. 

Individual Awards

New for 2013: We will be using the popular PRIZE POOL formula for awarding CASH PRIZES to our top winners in several categories for both the 5K and 10K timed races.

• Top Overall Winner, Male & Female, each receive 8% of the total prize pool.
• Top Masters (40 ) Winner, Male & Female each receive 3% of the total prize pool.
• Top Age Division Winner, Male & Female, each receive 1% of the total prize pool.
• Age Divisions: 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70
• Team members ARE eligible to win Individual Awards. There will be no duplication of Individual Awards.

With this effort we encourage you to motivate your family and friends to participate and help build the Prize Pool.

We're taking 10% from each paid Race Registration and putting it the Prize Pool.  Together we can really build this up.

Last year, the 2012 New Year's Day Resolution Races presented $1300 in CASH PRIZES and hundreds of dollars worth of GIFT PRIZES!

The 5K & 10K courses are accurately measured and pending certification.

With Brantford situated in the heart of South Western Ontario, it is easily accessible from cities in all directions, including London, Kitchener, Waterloo, Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville, Toronto and St. Catherine’s.  We welcome runners from all over Ontario and beyond to join us and take part in our races; extending a challenge to run in as many as they can.

Coming from the East:

• Head west on Hwy 403
• Take exit 38 for Wayne Gretzky Parkway, turn left on Wayne Gretzky Pkwy.
• Turn right on Colborne St.  Continue on Dalhousie St. to Brant Ave.

Coming from the West:

• Head east on Hwy 401, slight right on Hwy 403
• Take exit 33 for County Road 2/Paris Road, merge on Paris Rd. Continue on Brant Ave.

Coming from the North:

• Head south on Hwy 24, continue on King George Rd. continue on St. Paul Ave.
• Turn left on Brant Ave.

Coming from the South

• Head north on Hwy 24
• Turn right on Colborne St. W. Turn Left at Brant Ave.

Due to limited parking at the Brantford Armoury, we are asking race participants and their family & friends to park at the Royal Bank directly across the street from the Armoury.

It is one of our goals to encourage all ages and fitness levels to participate.  We have increased the number of Age Divisions this year to accommodate for our senior participants.  

Age Divisions are:

0-9, 10-14, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 & 70 .

Team Categories (minimum 3 person team) are:

• Corporate
• School
• Family 
• Open

Our races are professionally timed by Chip Time Results using state-of-the-art MyLaps Bibtag Technology.

You will be impressed by the accurate and immediate results available following the race and posted inside the Brantford Armoury.

Please make sure your bib is secured properly using the safety pins provided at race kit pickup or registration table.  

The timing tag is adhered directly on the back of the bib and it needs to be visible on the front of your clothing.

Our 2013 Tournament, which combines some new and existing races, features several race days throughout the year.  Each race will consist of a 5K and a 10K competitive and officially timed race; recreational runners, joggers, power walkers and walking enthusiasts are also encouraged to take part.  Along with the timed races we have introduced a fun-run (not timed) at many of our venues to attract younger children and families in the community.  This year there will be a small charge for the fun-run, and participants will receive a race kit which will include a race number bib, an official event gift (usually a t-shirt) and the post-race meal.  Each race is professionally organized by SteadyState Race Management Services; some of the races will take place on city streets taking participants through many heritage areas, passing historic sites and other popular tourist attractions our city has to offer.  Some of the races will take place on courses utilizing our beautiful trails, many which are paved, and featuring the scenic Grand River as a picturesque backdrop.

One of the popular features of the Tournament of Races is the Tournament Points System which is designed to encourage participation and performance year-round.  Our point system is very easy to understand and details are available on the www.likerunning.ca website

Note: A participant’s age division for the tournament is based on their age as of December 31st of the current tournament year.
