Saint Simons Christian School partners with the Jekyll Island Authority to sponsor the Under the Oaks Run- a 13.1 Half Marathon, 10K and 5K to be held on Columbus Day weekend, Saturday October 11, 2014 on the beautiful and scenic Jekyll Island. The courses are USATF certified and all three races are USATF sanctioned so that both casual and competitive runners may enjoy each event. The ORION timing team came to Jekyll and ran/rode the 13.1 course. Comments that came back to us were; "It is hands down our favorite run and you have done an amazing job creating the course. I would market the course as: shaded, picturesque, flat, and fast!"
We welcome runners to a course that goes from the beaches to the marsh and under the majestic oaks of Jekyll Island!
Time Limit for the Race: 3 hours and 30 minutes
Entry Fee is Non-Refundable.

Parking
Arrive an hour before your event! When you get on the Island, look for "Race Parking" signs. You will be parking on the Jekyll Island Golf Course. For those who arrive after the start time of 7:30am for the 13.1 event- expect traffic re-routing delays!!

All 13.1 participants will recieve finisher medals.

Top Masters (Aged 40 & above) Overall Male & Female Masters for all three events
Age Group Winners- Top 3 Male & Female Winners in the following age groups:
7 & under, 8-12, 13-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69,, 70-74, 75-79 and 80
Bib Chip Timing
Orion provides integrated timing chips into the race bibs. Please wear your bib number on the front of your shirts on race day to maximize the timing technology! You will also recieve a shoe tag with instructions in your race bag on how to put the tag on your shoe before the event. Please do not transfer the bib or tag to anyone else- this is a USATF sanctioned event and your timing is critical to overall success of all racers.
Lost and Found
There will be a holding area at the volunteer check in booth for anyone who wishes to leave items on race day as well as a lost and found area.
